The Challenge

Many challenges surfaced when we set out to redesign one of the world's strongest poker brands.

In the showcase below we wanted to share a little bit from the process we had, the principles that guided us, the solutions we came up with and of course - the outcome itself.

The Design Process

We began with an extensive study of the existing game, learning its deepest strengths and weaknesses while getting to know our players; Who they are, what they like and what they are already used to.

We listed our ideas into a time table divided into several future versions.
Then - we slowly  started to combine that with everything we knew about an accessible UI, the importance of UX, and super exciting powerful art.

Lobby

When art meet product

The central junction of the application - must be comfortable and must create the right spirit and atmosphere. Easy as it may sound, we came up with this minimal hierarchy based layout, combined with a live and exclusive atmosphere which we also emphasized  by using real WSOP players photos.

Action Bar


After table design we approached the design of the 2nd most important element on the screen. We had to find the perfect balance between comfortable usability and an uncluttered minimalist design.

Unified style and fresh appearance that can support different types of messaging and choices presented to the user. We also polished to buttons to enhance our sporty and sleek look & feel.

Thinking responsive

The mobile tests were the most important and educating, since the size constraints force you to be at your best. Everything is important, everything must have a minimum size and everything must find its place in this extremely limited area.

Since each platform contains its unique constraints and advantages - we immediately tested every screen and feature over the main 3 channels and changed them accordingly. Bottom line - if it’s comfortable on one device then it must be comfortable on the others.

Layout and art wise, our starting point was iPads and tablets which are kind of in the middle of web and mobile. Most of all - our players must be able to switch places and devices while maintaining a strong sense of continuity
